Aine: The Fairy Queen

Aine.

The queen of the Fae.

She holds the space of the zodiac in Cancer.

The Goddess of playfulness.

The Goddess of Nature.

Here we are in the final days of Aine. She gives way to Tailtiu at the end of the month. I almost didn’t share this with you. Negative feelings of guilt for not preparing this earlier held me back from completing the task. Has that ever happened to you?

This morning I awoke to the most glorious bird song, blue sky, and the lush green of July abundance. I was compelled outdoors to share my aha Aine moment with you.

I was unable to put into words this portion of the Wheel because I needed to live it and be in her energy.

I reconnected with the water.

I reconnected with the earth.

I reconnected with fire.

I reconnected with air.

I simply enjoyed without the pressure to produce or create. The lesson was to feel the power of the elemental energies moving and healing through my body. Allowing my body to ground even deeper.

Have you connected with each of the elements this season? If the answer is no, it’s ok. Be kind to yourself. Today, allow yourself one small simple pleasure that makes your heart sing in honor of Aine.

W.B Yeats recounted an Irish woman who was spirited off by the Fae for seven years and when she returned she came back with no toes because she danced them off.

Dance, eat a peach, harvest your garden bounty, take a walk, go to the beach, write, read, listen to the birds, lay in a field, journey to Aine, whatever brings you joy. I give you permission to put away the demands of the world and enjoy as a remembrance of the energy of Aine in all of us!

Many blessings to you as you enjoy yourself with abandon these last few days until we are held by the Mother!
